Thank you for being a part of this memorable event. May the spirit of camaraderie and the love for the game thrive. Here's to volleyball’s past, present, and future—goodnight, and until we meet again on the courts of shared memories.
Ladies and gentlemen, as we celebrate the remarkable legacy of our 1964 and 1968 USA Volleyball Olympians, we must take a moment to remember and honor those who have left an indelible mark on the sport. In solemn tribute, we pay our respects to the cherished memories of Verneda Thomas, a beacon of strength and inspiration from the 1964 Olympics. Gail O'Rourke, whose spirit illuminated the court, leaves a legacy of resilience that continues to inspire. Our hearts are heavy as we remember the dynamic duo from 1964 and 1968, Mary Perry and Patti Bright, whose camaraderie on and off the court defined an era of USA Volleyball. Their contributions remain etched in the annals of the sport's history. Let us not forget the fierce competitors from the 1968 Olympics—Ninja Jorgenson, Marilyn McReavey, and Fanny Hopeau. Their passion for the game and unwavering dedication have impacted all who witnessed their prowess. As we observe a moment of silence to honor these Olympians, let us also celebrate the joy, the triumphs, and the immeasurable spirit they brought to the world of volleyball. Their legacy lives on in the hearts of all those touched by their grace and skill. May they rest in peace, knowing they are forever champions on and off the court
